Question:

I7 processor confusion?

So I'm trying to buy a good but not too expensive laptop for several things including games.I can figure everything else out and is not like I don't know stuff about computers but I don't get this:Intel Core i7 - 3630QM Quad Core (2.4GHz -3.4GHz) 6MB cache? (Ivy Bridge) 45 Watt - 156,00Intel Core i7 - 3632QM Quad Core (2.2GHz -3.2GHz) 6MB cache? (Ivy Bridge) 35 Watt - 100,00Intel Core i7 - 3740QM Quad Core (2.7GHz -3.7GHz) 6MB cache? (Ivy Bridge) 45 Watt + 0,00Intel Core i7 - 3840QM Quad Core (2.8GHz -3.8GHz) 8MB cache (Ivy Bridge) 45 Watt + 214,00Intel Core i7 - 3940XM Quad Core (3.0GHz -3.9GHz) 8MB cache? (Ivy Bridge) 55 Watt + 780,0What is acceptable for gaming (newest games), and what would be needed to play at at least medium or high qualities? Is there any way to just know by looking at the numbers or do you need to be an expert to really get it? (My knowledge goes up to quot; I7 is goodquot;)thanks!

Answer:

yes you can, but you have to read and follow the instructions very carefullyI you should use a cold dye because hot water may cause the jacket to shrink or felt.
Yeah, you could dye it but its best to go to a fabric shop to find the correct dye for the material.
Yes you can, its always a risk
Any of these processors is good for mid-range gaming, however if you're looking for a top tier machine, you should learn the nitty-gritty, to get the most out of your machineThe 3xxx number tells you the clock speed of the processor, along with the bridge typeIn this case, they are all Ivy bridge, which is fineThe only thing that needs mentioning is that Ivy bridge's have a tendency to run hot, so you should grab an aftermarket heatsinkIf you don't mind me getting technical, you're going to want an i7-3770kThe k means that the clock multiplier is unlocked, making for easy overclockingYou'll also want a motherboard with a Z77 chipset and the socket has to be LGA 1155 (which is the standard for intel right now) Links to the recommended processor and motherboard suggestions belowOut of the three I've suggested, I can say that the MSi is an updated version of my Mobo, and I have yet to have a problemFeel free to contact me if you have any more questions.
