how much would be willing to pay for it? $160,000 or !80,000. We found a house we like in a great neighborhood, but it need all of the above.
maybe the house was priced to reflect those needs. the homeowner and realtor must have been aware of those issues. you are talking about making a bid thats 40 or 60 thousand dollars below the asking price ... thats not even a fair offer! you should get some advice from someone with experience.
You need to know the value of the homes in the neighborhood, factor in the cost of the repairs (get a few estimates), and make a fair offer. I don't think the seller would consider your 'low ball' offers as being acceptable, but a starting point would be nearer $195,000. .........................................
