Answer:

No, you do not need to have it installed by a professional. Most mice are plug and play; that is, you plug them in, Windows detects and installs any necessary software, and they work. It's as simple as that. Ps: A laser mouse is very good, so are optical. You don't have to worry about the ball getting dirty. By the way, if you do have a mouse with a ball in it, perhaps that is why it isn't moving right the ball collects stuff and then it doesn't move right. All you have to do is unscrew the bottom part and pull the ball out. Then use a dampened cotton swab and clean the three rollers that are there, and it will work perfectly.
Don't hire a professional. 95% of mouse these days are plug and play. That means when youplug them in the computer automatically install it for you. If you are in the unfortunate 5% usually it is a 10 minute job of putting in a CD and following the instructions. Finding and hiring a professional is going to be 10 times as much effort as doing it yourself.
Well, you should buy a mouse which has a USB connector. This makes it simple and easy for installation as you simply insert it into the USB socket in your computer. You will then also have the convenience if being able to take your mouse anywhere and connecting it into any other computer.
God doesn't throw lightning bolts silly. Lighting is random in nature.
I am a professional, so I will tell you how to fix your mouse, if it is old.. 8-) Turn it over. Do you see a little ball? if not , you must buy a new mouse. If so, twist the little ring and pop it out. Your will see the small hard rubber ball. Turn the mouse over, and the ball will fall out, only the ring was holding it in. Now turn the mouse back over, and look carefully. There should be 2 little rollers, one in front of the ball, and one off to the side. They are probably crusted with accumulated crud. Take a small sharp knife and carefully scrape the crud off the rollers, they should be smooth. Replace teh ball and the retaining ring, and your mouse should work much better.
