Question:

In NY State, what are the regulations for parking near a fire hydrant?

More specifically, how far from the hydrant does a car need to be to avoid a ticket? I've heard anywhere from 5 to 15 feet. Which is it? And if I was issued 2 tickets (for same violation) because the car was parked there for a few days, any advice on how to dispute the tickets? Thanks for your help!!

Answer:

If double faced tape does not work, perhaps you should look into getting a larger rug so the edges touch the walls, bathtub, etc., in a stiffer construction. Any place that sells carpet sells double faced tape, which is about three inches across and whatever length the roll comes in from the manufacturer. I have used it on foam backed carpets 12'X20' with no problems, but these were much heavier than what I suspect your throw rug is. Apply in a box pattern then some X patterns.
Safety: Learn how to fall FIRST, wear wrist guards (especially first season) and a helmet always What to wear: - Synthetic underwear (NOT cotton) on top, Patagonia is best (expensive but worth it) - A good shell (not insulated) with hoodie or fleece (better) underneath. Layer so you can remove something when hot. - Real snowboard pants with double seat and knees (I love my Burton pants, expensive but worth it especially when learning) - Thin underwear on the bottom (synthetic) - The best, highest gauntlet gloves you can afford (North face Goretex best, but $150+) - A helmet - Wrist guards - Good quality socks - synthetic or wool, try Thorlos - Goggles or sunglasses, your preference - Sunscreen What to Pack: You won't need much at a resort. I carry a tiny waist pack with a snowboard tool (I use it every day), a bar of wax, money, hat, sunscreen. After, you won't need that much, just a dry jacket and a warm lodge or car. Good Luck
Gloves, boarding pants, depnding on the weather thermals if it's cold, for safety (wrist gaurds) may be you can borrow a friends pair. Good luck on your first time boarding. It can be a bit frustrating the first few times, but once you get the hgang of it, it's awesome!
clothes to pack: long underwear, turtle neck, sweatshirt, heavy coat, snow pants, gloves or mittens, heavy socks, and your boots protective stuff: helmet, goggles, leash for snowboard have fun!!!
well, you will want o wear clothes that are warm but you can more very easily in and hand warmers if you don't have good gloves have fun on the runs
