Question:

Is Ceramic fireplace glass explosion proof?

I have a gas fireplace in my apartment that has had the glass explode not once, not twice, but three times in five years of me living here. Both times before this most recent incident I've gone to local glass shops and ordered a piece of tempered glass (with 1/8 clearance for expansion and contraction all around) to fit it. I've read another answer that says poorly tempered glass can fail. So to avoid this happening for a fourth time should I foot the expense and go for Ceramic glass? I don't want this to happen ever again.
