I want to by an LCD monitor that is best for watching movies. Please share ur experiences if u have Dell E1909W or any other LCD in reasonable prices.
I have an Acer 21 1/2 and it's excellent for watching movies. It cost $140. A good video card is also important for good video playback, so you'll want to check that. Enjoy the movies!
You have four parts to a movie playback system on your computer. One: You need a good video card, used to be that you could get away with an under the game playing level card, but movies like X-men and Transformers blew that out of the water. You need a medium quality Games-level video card, You might find a Gamer who goes for only the best, and offer to subsidize the purchase of a top of the line system, if you can have his older card. Two: You need an LCD monitor with high enough resolution to play high-def movies. The size of the display is going to be governed by the distance from the viewer ( which is usually determined by the # of viewers.) Three: You need the best video playback software you can get. This is often ignored, costs very little, but has a huge affect on the end result. Four: you need a sound card that can handle dolby quality sound. The experience of major blockbusters is about 60% visual 40% audio. Five: You need a Dolby quality speaker system. If you are planning on a solo system. you can get by with a very good set of headphones. I would recommend the open-air type, because the length of a movie is enough to generate sweaty ear syndrome. Now, the price of all this may be too much to do all at once. In that case, make sure your motherboards is not an integrated audio and visual unless it will handle a over-ride by good video and sound cards. Start with the Monitor, then the playback system, then the the Video Card, then the audio card, the audio speakers/headphones. If you wand your home A/V system to leave you with the same shaken and overwhelmed feeling of a surround sound movie theater, you can do it, but you get what you pay for. At the same time you can save some money because these components are not top-of-the-line Gamer quality. The other thing to remember, is as movies take advantage of technology to have even more SO, you may have to keep upgrading,
if my dell se198wfp lcd monitor is any thing like yours and it looks like it is it's a very good monitor to watch movies on for I do it all the time from 2007 transformer movie or any other movie to any anime I can find.
