Question:

Is it bad to have a Stiff Suspension system on a truck?

I put taller coil springs and new front struts on my 2wd and it‘s like impossible to compress the truck even on a large bump its so hard, I mean is this good or bad? It doesn‘t bother me but is it hurting anything?

Answer:

Howard is right, its okay to put a stiffer suspension in, if you are going to use the truck as more of a work truck, however, if your truck is a light duty 1/2 ton, the extra stress could cause other parts of your truck to be overworked, causing damage, to your engine and drive-train.
struts. trucks. hmmmmm. those don't mix. suv maybe? any event, to stiff. wet road, she'll slip/skip in corners. unusual tread wear as well. other than that, kidneys will suffer. prolly develope cab/chassis squeaks. minor really if you need that ride to get the job done. thing is, that aggressive of springs might suggest you're fixing to over tax the running gear. axle bearings and such. really would have been nice if we knew the vehicle in Q. you didn't just do that to the front did you?
It's bad. The pounding will eventually loosen bolts resulting in rattles and you might also break some suspension parts.
