Question:

is it easy to plug a rear motorcycle tire?

when i started riding it, it felt funny on my turns. i drove it only a few miles total and realized there was a screw in it. the screw is just to the right of the middle part of the tire. all the shops in town aren‘t going to be open till tuesday and i need it before then. will a regular car plug kit work? is it recommended or should i wait

Answer:

You guys are pitiful. You patch the inside of the tire. On the front, you replace the tire. You can tube the rear, to get some life out of a new tire. You do not use plugs. The first time you have a powered blow out, you will remember it as your life is flashing before your eyes. I had a front blow out on the track at 135 mph. Got to have the Doc pick pieces of helmet out of my face for a hour. Be safe, not sorry
I have run a plugged rear tire before without problems, but I'm always much more careful riding with a plugged tire. I would ride a plugged front tire very carefully, only as far as I needed to get the bike off the road, replacing the front tire immediately. You do not want to ride a flat front tire down from speed.
I've used the rubber worm plug three times, hasn't failed yet. The auto stuff store might even sell a kit that's especially for motorcycles -- I bought one called Monkey Grip recently in Burbank California.
