Question:

Is it immoral to install a lightning rod?

My neighbour has a three storey house, the only one of it's kind on the block. After an above average number of thunderstorms last year, he's decided to install a lightning-rod.Our local parish opposed his plan. I agree with the pastor, and think that man has no right to interfere with the hand of God.The pastor quoted the story of Job (Old Testament) to make his case:Job 40:6, 8-9: Then Yahweh spoke to Job from the whirlwind, saying, 'Do you criticize my justice? Do you declare me wrong and yourself right? Do you have an arm as strong as God's and a voice as thunderous?'The bottom line is if God wants you dead, then take it like a man.Does anyone have another interpretation of the Holy Bible of the tale of Job that justifies installation of a lightning rod?

Answer:

Hello,It is perfectly safe. Wish you all the luck
Uh, you'll get electrocuted. Which kinda means you'll die or go to the hospital.
If yoh triedthat lightning would cook you from the I side out and kill you. Whoever told you that is wrong so don't attempt it.
its probably better than the dull angry bee hive your listening to now. id cut the pipe back where it was good and solid and add a section welding it in. it would last as long as the car does.
Yeah, Very bad idea. The earth in physics terms is called a sink. A sink is a source of electrons. If you hold the metal rod, the lightning will strike you and will shock you very hard. This is the same concept as hanging from a power line. If you hang from a power line nothing will happen this is why squirrles are often seen running on them without getting zapped. However, if you hang on the power line and touch the earth, you will die. The current from the lightning will pass your body and enter the earth. It is safer to stand with shoes on because the rubber in the soles do not conduct electricity, but even with shoes you will still get shocked.
