I want to open a electrical contracting business down in Brisbane or Sydney after i have done my apprenticeship and had a thew years of experience I'm 16(Australia).Possibly even higher a thew lecky and also sell stuff like inverters etc. electrical equipment. The business would service the commercial side more then the domestic side.would this be a viable business or not.and would it be possible to make any money out of this to look after my family and look after my own family. Perhaps a couple hundred thousand a yearor would it be better to just go to the mines By the way i do study business organization and management plus economics so i have a general idea of what would be required like a very detailed business plan etc.
Umm, someone that earns more than 400,000 is more than just wealthy, and I don't know if just being an electrician is enough. My father is an electrician, and his business is doing very well here in Adelaide (which would be very different than in Sydney). He just keeps on expanding, and I should probably mention that he never had any business training and he never went to uni or anything like that, but he did run another successful business when he was younger. But don't get me wrong, it is great to have that knowledge, it will only make things better. But if its just money you are after, and don't mind the working conditions, I think mining is the better options.
