Question:

Is it possible to build a rocket from tin cans and aluminum or something ?

Just curious, I know nothing about rockets really.and can you use an oxidiser like potassium permanganate or something ? Explain your answers please, I want to be educated :)

Answer:

Yes, but be aware that you are courting a Darwin Award in trying itA rocket has to be light, and must operate just short of bursting pressure to go anywhere- Can you spell shrapnel? Some 'redox' mixtures are relatively tame, some aren'tThere's too much you need to know to try and teach it here: proper mixtures, vent sizes, strength of materials under heat pressure, etcWARNINGS: The wrong mixture or configuration a bombSome of those mixtures are unstable and can cause serious burns even in small amounts and unconfinedIf you do try it, stick to paper tubes, small devices, and ignition from a safe distance and you'll live longer.
