I own a 2002 yamaha r1. My rear tire has deflated due to a nail puncture. Is it smart to repair/patch the tire or should I just buy a new rear tire. Im kinda strap for cash and its about $250+ for a new tire and installation. Need advice!
Take an sos pad and lightly scrub the stain off the iron and make sure to wipe the soap off of it good or you will burn soap on your clotheseasy and cheap to do
I rode yamaha for years. Everyone will tell you to definitely get a new tire but if you find a place that will patch it from the inside that's what I'd do. I've done this many times and it was not an issue, keep in mind this was not on a track bike. Just a bike to ride around on the street
I currently have 3 plugs in the back and 1 in the front ( i need to stop riding between the lanes where all the road debris ends up). I know i will get grief for this, but here goes. I stopped paying bike shops to patch my tyres from the inside when they started charging me $95 a pop, i bought a repair kit for $15, a CO2 pump for $100 and i plug them myself, from the outside, with cheap crap vulcanised (?) rubber strips. Out in the sticks i can pull a nail (usually a roofing screw though), patch it, inflate the tyre and be back on the road in 10 minutes. I don't ride any slower with them in and ive never had any problems with them, they last the life of the tyre. Having said all that, if either tyre blows one out at any respectable speed there is going to be more R1 spares on the market.
do what you want just remember its your skin on the line! i would never patch or plug a motorcycle tire. i would rather spend the cash on a tire that is whole and not have to worry about a patch or plug coming out
i have heard that an orange will . slice the orange and while the iron is off and cold, rub the iron with a half of an orange.the citrus take off impurities. them wipe clean with a rag
