you will probably not be able to by it. the stuff at most hardware store is calcium hydroxide, not calcium oxide.The stuff at the big stores is hydrated lime. only real calcium oxide (quicklime) will heat when moisture is added. Hydrated lime will not dry out the back up but it might help kill the bacteria from the high pH. fast setting cement has quicklime in it. try treating it with dry fast setting cement first. then do your pour if it treats it to where you want it
