I was recently rushed on a repair job, a lot, putting (some) new hoses on an old trailer dolly, my bosses were skimping anyways, I wanted to replace all the air lines, rubber and nylon, they said no. I did not use teflon or liquid dope on 2 new rubber hoses with new brass ends into new steel female ends.They saw this and went off, crying negligence, etc.. They took a day off my check(tomorrow), and,have sent me to a part-time position over this. I've worked for shops where the owners, they were master mechanics, were right there, rushing me, telling me to skip the teflon, put the hoses on.Now I'm basically looking for a new job over this piddly stuff. I'm ticked, I just sat there in the office in disbelief over all this crying over teflon dope or tape. I need my job, even part-time,though, so I said nothing. Is no teflon on brand new fittings a deadly, (fireable) SIN?

yeah good eyes to see the problems but that doesn't mean your not allowed to wear glasses.. i know i lot of dentists who wear glasses if it's legal to get your driver's license if you are wearing glasses i don't see why not in any profession.
