Question:

Is there a regulation for having things a certain distance beneath a smoke detector?

Ive got management at my apartment complex coming to inspect my apartment as part of their annual fire safety inspections.I installed a extra rubbermaid closet on a blank wall since our closet is tiny and I am just now noticing that the top of the shelving is up roughly a half foot beneath the smoke detector. Will I get in trouble?

Answer:

Steering column shroud or cover. Get one at a junk yard.
Sounds like you just need to install new door locks and they come with their own new key. New power door locks might run you $500 parts and labor but who knows what some body or repair shop will charge? If you want remote operated locks that's even more expensive. Good Luck!
You should probably ask a French Poodle.
