At about 8-9 this morning. Now they are pretty dried at 1 pm. I wanted to now re-arrange the furniture, but how long should i wait? its pretty dried, but i was still wondering?
you could put baggies under the legs of your furnisher to remove the fear of wood finishings leaching off your furnisher and onto the carpet,,or rust due to medal legs. The best way to tell if there's moisture in a carpet is you rub the back of your hand on it and then look at your hand,,,no moisture seen is a good sign,,,then blow on your hand,,if it feels very cold,,,there may be minute amounts of moisture in carpet. also,,,you didn't have your carpets shampoo'd,,you had them extracted.
If you are worried put a small piece of Bacofoil (aluminium baking wrap) under the legs of chairs, tables etc. so they don't mark the carpets. Furniture often has some form of metal on the end of the legs and it could leave rust stains if the carpet is still damp.
I really would wait as long as you can, overnight if possible even if it feels mostly dry, it can take a good 12-24 hours to dry tracking around and dragging furniture can just get your clean carpet dirty again until the shampoo solution dries it can be tacky or sticky and really absorb dirt, then when its fully dry the dirt is sealed in
Trust me, a rug takes ages to dry completely. I am a rug manufacturer in Agra, India and we dry out a rug for 6-7 days in the sun before taking them inside. And that's when the sun in Agra shines at 47 - 48 Degree Celsius You should probably leave it out in the sun for 2-3 days more, since 2 days have already passed from posting of this question. It will not only dry out the rug but increase its longevity as well
