Question:

Key lime cupcakes with box mix and filling mix?

My plan is to use yellow box cake mix, key lime pie filling and cream cheese frosting. I am debating on whether or not to use some lime juice and/or zest in the cake mix. Will it make a huge difference? How much do I use? Should I cut some of the water used in the mix and replace it with the juice? I don't have time to experiment!

Answer:

they can't cause a hole in your stomach. I think any citrus is fine.
may be big part
It will not burn a hole in your stomach, the molarity of the citric acid in limes is not high enough to cause corrosive effects to your stomach lining. However, the low ph of your stomach acid combined with the stomach acid may cause indigestion and some discomfort, not to mention uncomfortable bowel movements. Watch your sodium intake with the limes as well. But on the whole, this seems like an ok way to get vitamin c, not the best, but better than none if you enjoy it.
Limes are sour, but I doubt that they can give you a stomach ulcer. Still sucking on too many limes isn't good for you, as you can get too much vit. C in your body. That's not good either. Not to mention, the salt increases your blood pressure, which in turn can give you a heart attack.
