Question:

Laser pointer safety regarding IR?

I want to understand how IR light comes out of a laserI thought its just the visible light in the spectrum that is being emitted (ie 532nm green lightso a green laser is just a beam of focused green light right?)That is my logic, but I read online about IR and how it is also emitted and is dangerous because it goes in all directions and can't be seen or feltis this true ie. does the laser produce IR too? does it go in all directions or follow the colored beam's trajectory? For example:With regards to a green laser of about 100mw, would the IR be anything to worry about? Would the standard safety goggles be enough to protect against it?Please answer all my questions here and include any other info that you think would be helpfull to understand lasers and IR.Thanks.

Magglio ordonez has been on fire hitting behind sheffield and Ervin Santana will pick up his game. His last start was pretty decent. Dice K will do good but not a top 5 pitcher like Ordonez is ranked 5 overall. Brad Hawpe isn't that good and he plays on the rockies who only have Matt Holliday playing good because Atkins is sucking.
