Question:

Lock cylinder or housing assembly? 2008 Ford Focus problem with ignition?

I own a 2008 Ford Focus and for about 6 months whenever I tried to start the car I would have to push my key in really hard and then turn it. Well, last week I was starting to have even more trouble with it. I would have to push, wiggle and strain the key until something happened and I could get the car to start. Usually 3-5mins. Well, the other day I spent 40mins and couldn't get it to start. I am thinking whatever problem I've had has caught up with me.Now, I've done a lot of research and I've narrowed it down to two things: Either the tumbler is bad in my lock or the housing needs replaced. I'm strapped for money and I can't play the 50/50 chance game here. I can buy ONE of these, but I don't know which. I also am no expert on cars so my knowledge is limited. Any questions will be answered to the best of my abilites. Thank you to anyone who helps!!

Answer:

Yes, S/E was hit hard!! Especially the areas around Nassau Bay, Seabrook, San Leon, Clear Lake, Bay Area. There are lots of trees down on homes, there are fences down, there is lots of tree debris in EVERYyes EVERY yard and on a lot of the streets (most has been moved from roads, but it was everywhere right after the storm), and many homes have severe wind damageyou can see the beam studs in the upper floor of our neighbor's house in Friendswood. There has been some homes flooded also, and most areas down in the S/E still do not have electricity.
I spent three months in India from Dec-Feb. I would strongly advise that you get a lonely planet, we would have been lost without it! The weather is generally hot. Make sure you cover up, you don't want to be too exposed. I would check for any advisories on your governments website just to see what it says about safety. I LOVED every minute there!! Relax, go with it, plans change, and Indian time is different then our time!!! I would stick together, the lonely planet will help let you know where you should or shouldn't be out late, or where you should or shouldn't be alone. You will probably need malaria pills from your doctor. Also enjoy the food, it is very yummy!!!!!
It's all REAL bad south of the 610 Loop unlike what bunny eater thinks!
