Answer:
honestly your best bet is leather or vinyl furniturewhy? -messes can easily be wiped off of them -doesn't stain -doesn't absorb fluids -pet hair doesn't stick -is easily and swiftly cleaned -if you have ac it stays cool in the summer (you actullay dont stick to it like most people would think) -its a really comfortable fabric
we have 3 dogs, and we bought the micro suede couch and loveseat in a light brown 6 years agoDONT BUY IT! There are spots all over them from dog drool(and my dogs dont drool that much they are dachshunds) I had them cleaned by pros, but the spots did not come outI asked why, and they told me that micro fiber suede material stains from dog droolSo I would not waste your money on that kind of materialIn hindsight, i would have bought something with a duck or twill slipcover that i could remove and washAnd even change the color of if i wanted to.
I have a Jack Russel Terrier named Cricket, which suits her well b/c she barks a lot when a car pulls up the driveway that she doesn't recognizeShe is about 7 yrs oldI also have a chocolate lab named SuedeShe's about 6Also a Bernese Mountain Dog named SugarbearThat doesn't really suit herShe tries to jump on you when you take her outsideShe's about a year old.
I have two cats and a dog (I won't even mention the spills from teens and their visiting friends).anyway, we have lots of animal hair around our homeWe purchased a livingroom set a year and a half ago and I am so happy with it.hair does not stick to this at allMicro fibre is nasty (daughter has it and hair sticks and stains are hard to remove), leather or vinyl is not feasible because of nails (just jumping up and down will ruin it)This material on my set is like an upholstery weight chenille.it is a raised patterned fabric.not the prettiest, but is the best material for anyone who has pets and uses their furnitureAll pillows (seat and back) are removableI have machine washed them and sprayed them with scotch guard and is good to goSo, if you can find material similar to this, you will love itOh, and someone mentions cotton twill.hair sticks something awful to this.I have two chairs that the animals only rub up against with heavy cotton twill covers on them.the hair sticks nasty to this.
What does the care label say? If the care label has been taken off, check online to see if the manufacturer has any informationIf neither is available or useful, and you want to launder it at home, use cold water and a detergent that has no bleachWash it with similar colorsDry it on lowI have some microfiber clothing which I have machine-washed and machine-dried with no problems.
