We are considering buying a Bobcat 331 mini excavator. We are looking at a used one from a dealer for approx $25K. It has 600 hrs. My question is: Do you think that the savings of buying a used machine with an unknown history from an auction outweigh getting a more expensive machine with low hours from a dealer with a documented service record? I know that a lot of the auction machines are rental companies making room for newer machines.Is 25K too much to spend on a Bobcat 331 with 600 hours, 2 buckets and thumb attachment?
Don't know much about equipment, but we have a Bobcat skid steer on our property that has been excellent.
