Question:

motorcycle h d 08 flhrc-i suddenly began hearing a clicking noise about every revolution of the rear tire-why?

i drove by a road work crew with one of the two lanes closed.right after passing this work zone i heard and felt like something got stuck to my rear tire.i checked it out and my spokes but saw nothing.anybody have any suggestions?i know this is tough without seeing and hearing it.i removed my saddlebags just to get a better look but all looks okay to my non-mechanical eye.

Answer:

You failed to mention the miles and have you had it regularly serviced.Number one killer of any transmission.30K miles it sholud be serviced. Doing so may help save it.And use Lucus product it works Good luck !!!
Carefully inspect the rear tire again, you may have picked up some road debris (metal, rock etc.) in the tread of the tire.
its internal the shutter from the torque converter means the clutch inside it is going. the other problem is with the direct or intermediate frictions going needs rebuilt. fluid and filter along with using any additives won't help with 121k on it don't bother it will quicken the the problem
Also check it drive sprocket/pulley, or brake disc has a bolt backing out and hitting on swingarm/softtail.
I agree with Candis, check that tire real good. Sounds like somethings in there, NOTHING TO FOOL WITH, it's the only thing between you and the road! Deano
