my 1989 Mustang cruise control wont work whats wrong?

bought the car as im driving home i tested the cruise control it wasnt working whats wrong with it? does it have something to do with the tranny? how much would parts be if i needed to purchase new ones?let me know thanks all!

Check your fuses, could be a problem with the switch on your steering wheel.
Check your fuses inside the car as well as the ones under the hood. Generally cruise controls work by pulling a cable tied to your throttle levers on your engine. Check to see if there is something disconnected or blocking the way of operation. You'll probably have to take your air cleaner assembly off to get to all of it. Of course nothing beats a shop manual from the auto store to help identify what's going on with anything.
