My brother is in Afghanistan and I want to send food, How do i package it?

I love to cook and i really wanted to send my brother some cookiesI just found the recipe and they are soo good, i know he will love themThe problem is they are made with a chocchip cookie base and top and the filling is caramel chocchips and nutsI know they would melt or something, but i have to risk itWhat's the best way to package this kind of food, taking all the precautions, i'll do anything.

First rule of thumb: nothing that can melt, liquify or perish within 4-6 weeks at leastIf you're making cookies, I would say stick to stuff like oatmeal raisin, ginger snaps etcWhen you package them, if you have it I would vacu-seal themYou can buy cheap vacu-seal thingie from Ziplock, I think, which is much less expensive than one of those big electric thingies (sorry don't know the brand) If you're hellbent on sending stuff that's probably going to melt, here's some additional tipsBuy tupperware containers, line them with parchment paper aluminumPut one layer of cookies, make sure they don't overlapOver each layer, put first a layer of parchment paper, then aluminum (I would recommend Reynolds Rapid Release, or whatever it's called - it's basically nonstick)Alternatively, you could wrap the cookies individually, then put them in tupperware containersAgain, seriously the best thing would be not to send stuff with chocolate - depending on what branch of the military your brother is in, it could take literally months for a package to get to him, and no one wants a gooey messAlso, make sure to wrap any containers in plastic bags tape them up to prevent bugs from getting to the food Hope this helps!
