Question:

My computer charger wont work?

I have an acer aspire and its charger is plugged in, but won't charge? Everything is connected, but it wont get any charge. Is it the outlet or is it the charger??

Answer:

Try taking out the battery and powering it by itself, without the battery. Your battery could have lost all power
Probably the battery is damaged. Try powering your laptop without battery. If it starts normally then your charger is okay. Turn off your laptop and unplug the charger. Plug in the battery and see if it starts the laptop.
It could be the battery. Most of the time when you connect your charger to the laptop there is a light that turns on to indicate the charger is connected and sending power. Easy way to test for problems. Try another outlet, try a lamp in the old outlet. If the lamp doesn't work and it charges in the other outlet, you have an outlet issue. If the light comes on, but the laptop won't hold a charge, but CAN turn on and stay on while plugged in, your charger works and it is the battery. If you try multiple outlets with the charger and the laptop can't stay on with the charger in any of them, you need a new charger chord. Usually though it's the battery.
