ETF is the Electronic Traction System. The light being lit means that the system is currently disabled. The check engine light being on means that the engine management computer has detected an emissions related problem. A code reader must be used to read the error code(s), which will give clues as to what the failure is. Autozone and many other parts stores will read the codes for you, and give you a list of possible cures for the problem.
Engine light means you need to have it serviced. Take the car to your local auto parts store (advance, zone, or O'riley's) and have them check the codes and give them to you. This will give you a place to start in diagnosing the vehicle. It may be something minor (lose gas cap, oxygen sensor) or something major (engine misfires, failing sensors, catalytic converter). The ETS OFF light is probably the traction control system. You may have turned if off unknowingly (many have a switch near the shifter) or there's a fault in the system.
