i read the title ,to replace the heat exchanger or buy a new one, but my heat exchanger is fine,i know where to find a firebox , and is it easy to install, thank you...
Never heard of a worn firebox. Usually the tin heat exchanger cracks and leaks monoxide. If you get the power company over there, they'll totally freak out and shut off your gas. I bet you aren't supposed to be working on those - they will endanger your life. Doesn't take much monoxide to knock you off.
What sort of appliance are we talking about here as there is no information to go on?
The firebox and heat exchanger are the same part. Your terminology needs correcting.
