I have a new TV and I am forced to use 2 remote controls? (One for Volume and the other for channels) Can anyone tell me how to sync one remote so I can change the channels and volume on just one remote? Thanks!
Read the remote's instructions, or buy a new universal remote.
I'm guessing one remote controls the TV (for volume and input), the other the cable box (for channels). If the cable box's remote is capable of controlling the TV, you can find its instructions and train it to respond to the TV's power, volume, and input buttons. Different remotes have different ways of being trained, so I can't help you with specifics. If your cable box's remote can't be trained, I'd look for a universal remote that can control the TV and cable box. You don't necessarily have to buy the one with all of the gadgets, but you do need to find one that can be trained to talk to your TV and cable box without having to reach for them to access all but the most obscure commands. It's highly unlikely your TV's remote can control anything more than the TV it came with.
