My mom sent me chocolate chip cookies when I was VietnamWe, (I say we because anybody that got a Care Package had to share), didn't care if they were melted so bad that we had to eat them with a spoonANYTHING from home was greeted with the greatest of appreciationCheck though the sites belowThey have info on just what and how you can sendPlus some have ready made Care Packages that they will send for the price of a donationYou might also want to call the Post Office and they can tell you more.
ok I think it is thoughtful and could workchill it thouroughly before cutting sides because it is firmer.
Don't sweat the toiletrieshe will have access to soap, toothpaste, ectIf he brought an x-box or buys one over there (yes, they do sell them there) some games for it would be fineIt really depends on where he is going to beBagram, Kabul, and Kandahar are pretty well equpped with the nicetiesIf he is pushed out to a smaller FOB (forward Operating Base) the amenities will be a little more roughBasically, you should ask him what he would like or need.
damn they do sound good I would advise baking them then freezing them while frozen, vacuum sealyou can buy a cheap one in the grocery stores now that is hand held from like Glad or Ziplock or somebodyI actually use a full size one( costco or any Kitchen store will have them) My concern woudl be all that lovely gooey caramel would get stuck in the bag and not come out when he opens the package.
Seal the cookies ina sandwich bag and wrap with bubble wrap, or you could send them in a plastic box, like a sandwich box but biggerThey'll be fineMy husband received all kind of cookies when he was deployedJust remember to pack the box well with bubble wrap and or newspaper.
