Even though you parked where the sidewalk wasn't red, you still parked too close to a fire hydrant. You could take a picture of the area where you parked and received the ticket, but they'd probably challenge your driving skills, since it's supposed to be common knowledge for every driver not to park close to a fire hydrant. Though, I have been to many cities where the sidewalk isn't marked at all. The first thing that comes to mind is the movie Backdraft where they had to bust the windows out of a car to get the hose through.
you can't park in front of a firehydrant, or within a certain range of it as far as I know. I think its 4m. And it doesn't need to be red. at least not where I'm from. all the hydrants I've ever seen are yellow.

I'm with dr zaeuss on this one. Only brand-name thing I have are my Icon boots, and even then, they are all black. Everything else is generic style and color and will go with watever bike I happen to get on. I wear a full-face on my cruiser when it's cold outside just to keep from freezing my face off. When it warms up I put on the shorty. Full leather jacket in cool weather, denim in hot weather. Most people have already said this, but I'm just going to repeat it for good measure It doesn't matter what you wear as long as you are geared up, riding safe, and having a good time. I doubt the Fasion Police have motorcycles.

This will come back to haunt the country. We are already seeing the terrorists taking advantage of the vulnerability of US management, with their increases in terrorist attacks. By now, GWB would have made a parking lot out of lawless Yemen, yet all we see and hear from 0bama is is poor imitation of Harry Truman. Someone needs to tell this upstart, he is no Harry Truman !
