Do the people who preform Autopsy's have to be a Dr of some sort or can they be just regular people?
They are Medical Doctors and go to regular medical school. Just as a doctor would specialize in foot care or women's health, they specialize in the dead
Generally, they have a doctorate, either M.D. or the real doctorate. However, it is not necessary. They do need some training, so I would not call them just regular people.
The previous answer isn't quite right. Autopsies can be carried out by Doctors who are trained in the field (normally called pathologists), but they can also be carried out by pathologists who are anatomists and trained in a similar way... though they cannot treat real patients. The anatomists are not Doctors.
