Answer:

I caught a pan on fire trying to cook pancakes when i was 17 :[ then I grabbed it and tried to take it to the sink to put water over it.. and WHOOSH my moms decorations on the wall went up in flames.. I was sh*tting myself ..but luckily i beat it all out with a wet rag like you! :D
i did the same thing with oil. darn oil. forgot the stove was on and went to the other room, then went back down the hall where i thought to myself 'i dont remember leaving the kitchen light on.' the oil had caught fire! i didnt know what to do. i woke up my bf and he got the flames down but we still called the fd. so much drama. what a day
One time I was 6 and I thought I could cook Top Ramen with out my mom's help there was a napkin and some of my parents old bills on the counter I turned the burner on and I turned around because my dog came in then I turn back and the whole counter was on fire! I grabbed the pot full of water and dumped it on the counter I was grounded for 3 weeks with no television
If I were to try this, I would try to make a box shape out of the Popsicle sticks without a top. Then I would crumble up the paper to make some cushion in the box and place the egg inside the cushion. This will soften the impact on the egg. If possible to choose the miscellaneous material, I would make it a sponge (or tempur material if available) to place under the egg for even more protection. I believe that this should work in itself, and I don't know what to do with the rest of the materials.
Well, covering the oil fire with the lid or fire proof blanket will suffocate the fire Never throw water on that as then you would spell for real disaster Idea of bringing overheated oil outside is OK as long as there are no flammable curtains near Nor nothing burning materials outside But due notorious bushfires of Australia.., it might be better not to bringing hot/burning pot out as fire might spread everywhere You certainly had a day which should be classified as one of those I should have stayed in the bed this morning-days Maybe you should not cook with oil (water does not burst in flames) I have had my share with hazardous situations in the life (without going into details), but all cases I have been able to cope them with swift, rational and correct action based to excellent education and training, and in the dangerous situation able to maintain the calmness in process (which is the biggest challenge for everyone)
