Question:

press-on nails vs. acrylics?

So I've been getting acrylics done at a salon every 2-3 weeks for a little under a year now. Today I realized I probably spend about $400 a year on these nails ($25 every time I go) and I was wondering about getting pre-glued nails, like from a drug store to maybe save money. I get the acrylics done because I work in a resturant, and my real nails used to break or the polish would chip after one shift. So would press-on nails work as well as my salon acrylics? Or would they just fall right off? How long do they last? Can I keep putting new ones right back on, like I do with the acrylics? Is it bad (well, i guess worse) for my nails? Suggestions/tips?thank you :)

Answer:

I used to have acrylics but they go so costly I have to stop. Now I am using the press on wow much cheaper. People comment about how good they look, they never believe that they are press on. I only use the Broadway brand, they have stayed on for up to 2 weeks. Kiss nails aren't shaped correctly for my nails and never stay on.
I know how u feel just recently I have stopped wearing nails and I think I will die! Also I have a cosmetology license to do hair and nails. The glue on kind r a little better for your nails than acrylics, but they will not stay on if u make it all day with out one coming off it would be amazing! Also the color will chip off allot of times if u get them to stay on. If it was me I would keep getting acrylics. I have tried both kinds. Hope this helps!
Press On Gel Nails
i would totally go for the press ons because acrylics are so bad for your nails once the are taken off or broken they leave your natural nail in horrible condition and acrylics hold so much bacteria under the nail. Press ons usually last up to a week or Two but you can always buy nail glue then just glue them back on. you also can change up the design when ever you want to. so my vote is totally for the press ons.
Ive just tried press on nails and I used glue, they might not last long but for someone whose tried them all and left with bad results. I'd rather have nails that can be easily applied and taken off and change them when I feel like it for less than $10 i get a nice looking mani. Def press ons!
