Question:

Problem with my monitor (Auto Adjust in Progress) Help please?

Last night the power went out, and today my monitor keeps flashing Auto Adjust in Progress. I‘ve tried about everything I can think of; pressed the auto adjust on the screen itself, rebooted, updated my drivers. The last time this happened I found a file in my global start up that seemed to be causing the problem, and got rid of it and the message stopped, but that file isn‘t there anymore (it came from my isp‘s installation disc--i was trying to fix a different problem with it), and I‘m not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Answer:

Often this is the GPU manufacturer's silly utility, check your Toolbar for a utility, or: Right Click Desktop- Properties- Settings (tab)- Advanced (bottom button)- Options (tab) [maybe, depending on manufacturer] Poke around this may be the problem, or Somewhere in your monitor's firmware menu (this should be fun) there should be an 'Auto Setting' and in the same Menu it usually lets you use your preset.
just boot in safemode and decrease the resolution best of luck
It sounds like your computer isn't booting up. If you have another system, or maybe can borrow a laptop, try the monitor on another system. I am honestly guessing there is nothing wrong with the monitor, and your system is out to lunch somehow. Try booting your system from a floppy disk. Watch the drive lights on the system and see if it appears to be trying to boot at all. If it does seem to be trying to boot, try another video card.
