Hi, i'm 16 years old, and you're supposed to be 18 to operate a machine. My Dad OWNS a business and does welding/fabrication and all of that, and he was thinking that since he owns the business, and i'm his son, that legally, i can work at a lower age than 18? does anybody know if i would be able to work for my father at age 16? Thanks!
I grew up in the same situation and always was called a laborer even though I was doing some welding and learning the art of fabrication. I am not sure of the law but I say if you are interested in doing it, start as soon as you can and listen to as much knowledge as you can.
