Question about electricity?

I want to know why its so bad to hook a battery to itself. I mean even if current went through a load it still ends up going back into itself. Is it because the current is reduced from the load or something? Fill me in please, thanks.

Well yes. In the trades this is what's called a dead short, because something is going to go. Current always goes to it's maximum. So in your question; either the conductor won't handle it and burn open, or it will but the battery will overheat. That is correct the limiting factor to current is the opposition (resistance) presented by the load.

i own a repair shop,and its either the arm stripped out ,or the linkage may have come off of it,either way you,ll have to go in to it to repair it, its not a bad job though my wife has a 98 stratus,and there not bad to repair,good luck i hope this help,s.
Do you mean connect a short across a battery? The problem is that the current is limited only by the internal resistance of the battery, which can be very low. Ohms law, I E/R. If R is close to zero, I is very high. For an auto battery, if you placed a thick copper bar across the terminals (don't try this !) the bar will get so hot so fast, it will spew molten copper all over. A small flashlight battery, when shorted, could get hot enough to explode.
