Question:

Replies from either plumbers or home owners w. Pb pipes please?

I hear so much tado over my local media about a plumbing error that was installed in homes built before 1995. This media alert mentions something about polybutylene pipe fittings. What has been the symptom of this error and why is this such an urgency to remedy now (13 years later)? My home was built in 1983 (within the time limits of this case) so I need all references on what to look for (any specific symptoms?) around my home.My house is plumbed with well water, so I do not have THAT MUCH PRESSURE on my system to notice any leaks if this is a marker of this symptom. Thanks for refences. My home is in TEXAS.The web-link to this case is for your reference.

Answer:

What you describe isn't discrimination under EEOC regulations (see eeoc for the description). In fact, if you are in the US, you can quit or be fired, for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice. Different states have their own laws that may be more strict - so you would need to check with the government agency in your state to understand your specific rights/responsibilities. You should file for unemployment - no matter what. The state makes the determination of your eligibility, and because you were let go through no fault of your own they will likely determine in your favor. Your former company would then have to contest the determination, and then a hearing would be scheduled. When you go to the hearing - you ascertain that you were not made aware of any state mandated training, and were not properly informed like the rest of the staff. You were told that, after missing this training that you were not informed of, that you were being fired because you missed it. Period. End of story. Oh, and at the same time - look for another job.
USA? Almost all employment in the US is at will meaning they can fire you any time for any reason.
