Question:

reset service engine light on 2002 Chevrolet silverado 5.3?

The change oil light came on as well as service engine light and I reset by turning key on and pressed excellorator 3 times but the service engine light stayed on.

Answer:

I think you mean accelerator. Anyway, as mentioned, you need to get codes scanned, diagnosed and the issue properly repaired before that SES light leaves you alone.
the PCM will illuminate the engine service light if a malfunction in the engine controlsystem
Cold means cold, as in not recently driven on. Coldest time of day (morning) gives you the best baseline. Tire load carrying capacity diminishes as air pressure is reduced. You want to set them so that the recommended pressure is achieved at the coldest temperatures the tire is likely to encounter.
Have the computer system scanned for codes. Many auto parts stores and some shops will scan your computer for free. The service engine light indicates that a trouble code has been stored in the computer. Once the code is read, you can make the needed repair and have the codes reset.
