Question:

Should i get a cold air intake for Ford escort zx2?

I have a 1999 Ford escort zx2 and i was wondering if i should but a cold air intake on it? One of my friends says yes because it will give it like 30 more horse power and deeper sound while another one said no don‘t because it will only give you like 3-5. What should i do?

Answer:

Cold air intakes are supposed to work by increasing the volume of air going into the filter and lowering the air temperature slightly. The computer senses the increased air and change in temperature, and instructs the injectors to spit more fuel into the combustion chamber. You burn more fuel, but you get slightly more power. 3-5HP is probably about right. Absent any other modifications, all you will get is an increase in what we call butt dyno. The car may have slightly better throttle response, but that's about it. If you want to drop $100-200 on a car that is ten years old, then go ahead. I wouldn't. You won't see a 30 HP gain on the Zetec motor, my guess is, unless you make some significant changes.
IS THE ABS LITE ON OR THE LITE INOP,, particular ,ABS may well be DIABLED yet no longer mentioned IS IT RWAL OR FWAL OR AWAL PAY a professional just to look to work out IF IT ALOT to restoration OR tension ABIT SLOWER AND EASYER on the BRAKES
It won't give you 30 hp. The 3-5 friend is probably pretty close. If you decide to go with one you can save money by getting a dirt cheap Ebay CAI, then throwing away the crappy filter and buying a good one. There isn't really any tuning or high technology in the pipes, the filter is the important part. I found that my fuel economy was terrible after I put one in so I wouldn't do it again. Some people say the opposite though.
2000 Ford Focus Cold Air Intake
You would have regular brakes. If your brakes freeze up,somone may have put the wrong dot number fluid in the system. Do you go to quick oil change places like JiffyLube? They're real good at that
