I have some old aluminum frat work that was painted before but the paint is chipping off so bad I intend to chemically strip it . Must I prime it ? It will be outside but undercover and should not get too wet.. Thanks
Most surfaces need primer of some sort
Aluminium MUST be primed using an acid etch primer, else the subsequent coats will flake off. Use 'Finnigans Hammerite Special Metal Primer', from Homebase / BQ.
