Question:

Should we just lock up &progressives& so they can have all the comfort and safety they crave so bad?

We can have them mothered from cradle to grave and they will never have to work, get free food, medical care, room and board, clothes, security, people to tell them when to eat, sleep and poop?We all know that is their end goal so why not just help them get there now? It would be cheaper to do that and then they can have their utopia and we have the country back for the people who actually want to work for what they get and want the government to ONLY be a safety net and not a mother.

Answer:

This really may depend on the size of the community the volunteer fire department serves. Smaller towns would not be able to afford to pay the wages of a full-time, around-the-clock staff of professional firefighters. If they had such a department, the local real estate taxes would jump astronomically. Small rural towns where the volunteers live and work locally are generally best suited for this type of fire protection. They would need certification and training from the state fire and may even need to chip in to pay for some of their own equipment. But that is what living in a small rural community is all about. The other advantage is that local volunteer firefighters have a greater stake in prevention, education and fire control.
It could be that the heads on the VCR could be really dirty or worn out. There are some $5 VCR head cleaners that should solve that problem.
