Computer geeks please help! what software and card reader(hardware) would be needed to convert a tablet or a regular desktop to read a sim card i have a tablet without a sim card reader
Adding a SIM card reader does not give a tablet the ability to use 4g/LTE data, or make phone calls, or anything else. It just means you can read the data on a SIM card. Connectivity requires the radios for such communication, the hardware that allows a device to connect to and use cell data. You can't just add that to a tablet.
You do not need a SIM card to make telephone calls you need an internet phone which you can get off the Google Play Store and you need a source of Internet this can be your cell phone it can be a WiFi hotspot or it can be a jetpack you don't need anything special to download an internet phone from the Google Play Store they will give you a telephone number and it will even ring your tablet all you need is a source of Internet and you can backup all your contacts to Google
Nothing. It doesn't work that way. You would need to either buy a 4G capable tablet OR buy mobile hotspot from your carrier.
