I know this is an incredibly silly question, but I'm quite ignorant about seemingly simple household things! My smoke detector is dying, and it was damaged during a brown-out. I would like to get a new one. However, my ceiling is very high, and I cannot safely uninstall and re-install a smoke detector there. I know there are battery-operated smoke detectors, which I would prefer, but my question is, do they still need to be wired into some place or attached? Is there an easy, simple way I could attach it up high on a wall? I do have a screwdriver and a hammer, so I'm not completely useless, ha-ha. Any suggestions for a noob do-it-yourselfer?
Ryan pretty much nailed it. These opinions are wired into our genes and our society since they promote evolutionarily favorable results. Women appear more attractive in youth since that's when they're more able to reproduce. Men do not suffer the same judgment since they're still fairly effective at reproducing all the way up until the time it stops working. And, let's face it: people didn't normally live long enough to see that happen in the old world.
I was in a very similar situation. In 8th grade, I only was with my friends who played video games and laser tag socially, not the 'parties' crowd. Eighth grade consisted of me embarrassing myself trying to get to the top of a social ladder that was nonexistent in High School. Let me tell you - the situation flips upside down in High School. There is no social hierarchy, there are no 'popular kids' or cliques or conflict. Well, there is, but the 'popular' group just interacts with itself. Everyone just doesn't be mean anymore, and so I was happy with who I was with. In fact, I even became friends with the people who made fun of me in middle school. Just talk to people, about whatever you're interested in. Video games and action stuff was my thing, and I have my friends and talk about that. Also, I do high level courses and have friends whom with I discuss that stuff too. And girlfriends? Not a problem. Asking someone out isn't hard, and most people are just as inexperienced as you are. And congrats on taking Calculus and Trig in middle school!
The efficiency of mirrors varies hugely. Industrial CO2 cutting lasers tend to have solid (highly polished) copper mirrors (often liquid cooled). I think the best mirrors are something like 99% efficient with very good mirrors (used in telescopes etc..) getting to something like 95%.
What does not look feminine about the older Brooke Shields? She looks like all woman to me. She was a child in the previous picture. These are not very good examples for the point you're trying to make. Sure, older men might look more masculine that doesn't make them more attractive unless, of course, they are blessed with Brad Pitt's trainer, chef and stylist.
I dunno. I'm with an asian. I don't want no wrinkle-man. they both look hotter younger. they are ugly as oldies.
