Mickey, I assume you're talking about getting the plastic off of the oven wall, not getting the fire extinguisher residue (which should be easy) out. You've got a real problem. One of your answerers has suggested acetone. It's a bad suggestion. First of all, it won't work, and secondly, contact with your skin will cause absorption which is harmful to your liver and kidneys. It's also extremely volatile and you're working in a confined space, so you will inhale the fumes. This effect is minimal for small doses but since it won't help with your problem, it should be avoided. If at all possible, and as difficult as I'm sure it will be, you should try to remove as much as you can mechanically. That is by scraping or some abrasives. If the coating is very thin and cannot be removed by this process, there's one other option. it's unpleasant but you can burn it off. if you have a self cleaning oven, you can set it to self-clean and turn the plastic into ash and smoke. Even if it's not self-cleaning, setting the temperature as high as you can (usually ~ 500 degrees Fahrenheit) will burn off the rest of the plastic. I'm assuming that most of the plastic has been removed so you don't create another fire in your oven. I hope you have an exhaust fan or can open windows to ventilate the kitchen through this process. Afterwards, a lye solution should probably remove any remaining ash or dirt on the oven's surface. You can buy lye as drain cleaner but it's extremely dangerous stuff to use because it will dissolve your skin so you must be very careful to not get any on your clothes or skin and, of course, wear gloves. There are spray oven cleaners like Easy Off which are far more convenient and safer to use and actually are lye solutions too..it seems like a really unpleasant and labor intensive job. I bet you never do it again!
Are all fire extinguishers created equal? The answer is no. Fire extinguishers are similar to cars. There are many different makes and models that differ in design, quality, durability, serviceability and function. However, they all have one common purpose: to quickly and effectively stop a fire from spreading. The different types of fire extinguishers have specific requirements for cleaning the extinguishing agent after discharge. Below we’ve identified a few types of fire extinguishers and how to properly dispose of any residue left behind.
If you mixed vinegar and baking soda it negated any cleaning effect. Use a strong solution of baking soda on it's own. Let it soak for an hour and most of the burnt residue will wipe off.
it's bad because it is not what marriage is for it is for 2 people who love each other of the opposite gender. Homosexuals don't love the way that normal do.
have you ever replaced the shocks? if you had put the mileage of the vehicle you could get much better answers.
