Question:

something is wrong with me down there someone help?

for about 3 years now, i feel that ive had BV. The only symptom i have is a very strong odor and occasionally unusual discharge. no burning, itching, etc. I am not sexually active. the odor is so strong that i can smell it if i open my legs or get up out of my seat at school. but the smell is not necessarily fishy. I feel like my vagina is always hot or sweaty. the odor also makes my underwear and pants smell. Ive told my mom about it and tried using over the counter treatments but nothing helped. I went into the doctors recently to get checked out and the results came out negative for some reason, but I know for a fact something is wrong down there? please help

Answer:

Do not wear underwear made of polyester or any other non-breathable fabric. 100% cotton ONLY. Make sure you're not wearing too tight of clothes either. Anything that restricts you down there or is not breathable material can cause irritation, excess moisture and/or odor. Many young women's underwear are made of materials that can be binding. The fact that you feel sweaty often is a sign you're probably wearing underwear that do not allow air flow. Do not use regular soap to wash your vulva. This also is bad. Use a mild feminine wash or just a wash cloth and water. Make sure you're washing the vulva daily because not doing so can cause odor. Sleep with no underwear on too. It's good for you to avoid moisture build up. Definitely invest in 100% panties though. This alone could be your problem. If this doesn't help then get a second opinion from another Doctor.
I guess you would be the only person that could decide that one.
go to a different doctor.
