Question:

Subaru Cold Air Intakes?

I‘m helping my friend find a cold air intake for his subaru impreza 2.2L i found a flexible intake and i want to know if it will work exactly the same as a steel intake.Or can you link me to a intake for his car it can‘t be a short ram.

Answer:

A flexible should work the exact same just wont look as good. It's been busted and shown many times before from dyno numbers that cold air intakes really don't give you much of a performance upgrade. The only way you may see any kind of increases in power is if you have already gotten many more upgrades for the engine, or if your stock air filter is trashed.
Permanent magnets and ferromagnetic materials are similar except that permanent magnets have a very large corrosive force (a very wide BH curve). This is what make the PMs.
ferro magnetic have iron in them. there are other magnetic metals such as chromium and cobalt which don't contain iron.
Ferro are made out of a different metal and more more powerful than regular magnetics
