Question:

TC warning light comes on 2005 Tahoe?

The TC warning light comes on during slow ( city) speeds on my 5.3L 2wd 2005 Tahoe LS but the TC light goes off at highway speeds. Does this point to a sensor leak? The brakes when applied at slow speeds do make some noise at times ( but not all the time) when the TC light is on.

Answer:

J. D., To clarify, I am not an auto technician. In the owner's manual on page 3-68 it says, if the brake traction control system activates constantly or if the brakes have heated up due to high-speed breaking, a TRACTION SYS LIMITED may appear. Per the manual, this is normal and the message should only display briefly. There is also more detailed information beginning on page 4-9 through 4-13. However this light could still indicate it needs to be serviced. If you feel unsafe, I would take it a Chevrolet Certified Technician. They should be able to accurately diagnose and resolve the issue. I hope this helped and that your concern is resolved quickly. Matt of GM Customer Service
