Is it hard to change the transmission mount on a 94 gmc 1500 truck? Mine is getting worn out.
it,s pretty easy to change ! all you have to do is jack up the tail end of the transmission, take out the mount bolts and change it !
super easy. although, 2wd is easier than a 4wd. get a jack with a board, and jack up on the trans, anywhere that wont inhibit your work on the mount. moake sure you take the bottom nuts off the crossmember where the mount is, either 15mm, 16mm, or 18mm, then pick up on the transmission as high as it will go, then you can access the bolts securing it to the transmission, which should be 19mm, but sometimes 15mm. if the mount is bad enough or oil soaked, sometimes the rubber might be squished out, inhibiting you from putting a socket on the nut, but in that case, take a utility knife and cut it away from around the head of the bolt. see? now your a master mechanic!
