There are speakers built into the house that I just bought. I have no idea where the control panel is for it, so I am unable to use them. I would like to play music over them. Does anyone have any idea where it would be?

may depend on how permanent they are to be , for time or weather, or other conditions, when making paper mache, you usually use flour and waiter paste mix, some add white glue, you could try more white glue, and water and no flour, since you plan not to use resin/ epoxy/ cement type glue or hardeners, carpenters glue like white may be ideal, but if to withstand weather , rain, heat, then eventually items would fall apart, it for indoors and show, then that should be ok, you also have option to paint exterior area for more protection , ..
