Question:

To save money on electricity If I turn off my AC and revert to ceiling fans would it save ?

I keep my AC at 75 usually but with the end of summer here in SC it's still seeming like its not getting a break. Any additional tips?

Answer:

I personally would not breed a dog at all. But you need to do family research before choosing a stud, make sure that the sire and dam are not closely related in pedigree and make sure that their temperments and genetic histories are worthy of being passed down to future generations.
My opinion is if she is suggesting dogs that have excellent back ground, pedigree, health and will complement your dog then you should highly consider her recommendation. She seems to have a a lot more experience and knows which dogs will produce the best pups. You can also look at pups from the litters her choices have produced and see which one produced great quality pups that have the look your going for. I would also talk to other Papillion breeders and see what they think will be a good fit. But in the end i would most likely take her advice if you look up to her, trust her opinion, and she has help produces show quality, health sound litters.
Well, do you trust her judgment? Have you told her what you like to see in a Pap, and what you are hoping to achieve with the litter? Tell her that you want a heavier boned Pap with solid structure rather then a wispy, refined, delicate dog. Tell her the reasons why you'd rather use one of the dogs that you like instead of the ones that she's suggested for the reasons that you've stated. If she still suggest that you use the paps that she's suggested. Then I'd trust her suggestions. She's got more experience with the breed, with showing and breeding these dogs. What *I* would do is talk to some other Papillon breeders. Don't settle when it comes to stud dogs. Breeding is not something that you just want to look one place and then decide which dog you want to use. Talk to more breeders, handlers, etc Your going to UKC Nats, right? Talk to some Pap. breeders, owners and handlers there. Look for some male Paps there that suit your taste and maybe get talking to their owners. Best of luck. :)
mine did that.. i ripped it out of the ceiling. and it's kinda been hanging from the ceiling by a wire since. stopped beeping and it still works!
I would use a young, unproven stud PROVIDED he had his championship, passed his OFA tests, eyes CERF'd, brucellosis test, was very sound in temperament and movement, complemented my ***** (meaning no faults in common), had working titles of some kind(for my breed), and was an excellent example of the breed. Type is great, but the dog has to be within the breed standard. Edit - If this woman is knowledgeable enough about the breed to be your mentor, she should also know her line well enough to know which, if any, stud would suit your *****.
